Chamber Hosts NAMAC
The Northern Arizona Military Affairs Council (NAMAC) was launched in 2017 to promote economic development around northern Arizona's military installations. General Kerry Muehlenbeck visited Flagstaff to discuss priorities at Camp Navajo. Julie Pastrick, President/CEO of the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce also serves as the President of NAMAC. This past month the Chamber hosted NAMAC's quarterly board meeting. Presentations were given Jason Christelman, Coconino County Director of Community Development regarding the Camp Navajo business feasibility study, the pilot program for which is starting in November. Dr. Jeffrey Dunn gave an update on the Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station's work with the City of Flagstaff on a new Dark Sky Code. Adjutant General of Arizona and Director for the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, Major General Kerry L Muelenbeck gave updates on regional Air Force and Army initiatives and spoke to the department's emergency management response to this past summer's flooding.
