Flagstaff offers a multitude of educational opportunities for students of all ages. Northern Arizona University and Coconino Community College offer excellent higher education opportunities. Numerous public, private, Montessori and Waldorf schools are available as K-12 options. Flagstaff also has a number of charter, religious and private schools from which to choose. Some have open enrollments and are free, while others require applications and tuition. There are also a variety of accredited preschools and childcare programs for younger children. Northland Preparatory Academy
Northland Preparatory Academy is a tuition-free, nationally ranked public charter school in Flagstaff. The national ranking is based on the academic success of its students and preparation for college readiness. Academic rigor, delivered through over 12 Advanced Placement courses and seven dual enrollment courses, creates the initial foundational pillar of Northland Preparatory Academy’s academic excellence.
Flagstaff Unified School District
Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) FUSD serves about 11,000 students from kindergarten to 12th grade. Since the district was founded in a log cabin in 1883, the city has always taken great pride in its public education. The local school district employs approximately 775 teachers, counselors, librarians and administrators. FUSD graduates have gone on to study at prestigious universities like Stanford, the United States Military Academy (West Point), Princeton, Yale, MIT, Brown, Johns Hopkins and others.
